There are many ways that parents get involved in helping the school.
| Supporting specific fund-raising events |
Each event we run relies on the support of volunteers to:
- Plan the event - coming up with new ideas to keep the events fresh
- Prepare items for the event, anything from baking cakes to wrapping up prizes for a bran tub or even building hoopla stalls
- Set up stalls/equipment beforehand
- Run the event on the day
- Encourage friends and family to attend
|
| Securing Sponsorship |
Parents help us to get sponsorship from local businesses in a number of ways:
- Some parents run businesses and offer to sponsor stalls, provide prizes for raffles, etc
- Other parents have employers who are willing to match fund-raising £ for £ on specific events
- Yet others have strong links with businesses that are willing to help us in some way
|
| Supporting school community events |
We support a variety of events which happen in the school community, for example:
- Providing refreshments at Parents' Evenings, Induction Evenings etc
- Running the bar at entertainments held in the school
- Making props and painting scenery for school productions
|
| Sharing skills and expertise |
There is a lot of talent and experience in our parents, and it's great when parents are able to use this to benefit the school, for example:
- Being Advisers to groups of students taking part in the Young Enterprise Scheme
- Acting as Mentors for the annual Engineering Day organised by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership
- Providing student interview practise and placements for Work Experience

| Coming along to meetings |
We have committee meetings every month, and all parents are welcome to attend. These meetings give parents the opportunity to contribute ideas and get involved in decisions about how the Parents' Association will support the school |
