STUDENT VOICE CONFERENCE
On Monday May 23rd, three students from
Lawrence Sheriff- Sam Patrick, John Vaughn and Ollie Watt- spoke at a
major national conference on student voice. They discussed the school’s
innovative approach of allowing students to interview staff before appointments
are made. They also explained the workings of the student council, particularly
its curriculum committee. The conference was also interested to hear about
the school’s recent experiments involving students observing and
feeding back on lessons taught by senior members of staff.
‘We feel that students have a chance
at Lawrence Sheriff to make a real difference to the way in which the
school is run,’ commented John Vaughn.
Delegates responded to the student’s
presentation with tremendous enthusiasm and interest
